After many delays and sometime after the old scheduled date of October 16, 2007, the next chapter in Grand Theft Auto has been slated with a worldwide release date of April 29, 2008.It seems the first delay was entirely based around market competition, Rockstar holding their financial juggernaut back for the right moment to release and maximise sales.

Great for Rockstar, poor for consumers, now that GTA IV has a solid worldwide release date a sunset has appeared on the horizon. Anyone who has been following Space-Meat or knows of my existance should appreciate how excited I am for this. It’s also pretty nifty that we Aussies won’t have to hear how great it is from overseas while we wait for a PAL conversion.
