Nothing but the hard facts on this one, Fallout 3 has been officially refused classification in Australia.

Now listed on the OFLC’s Classification Database, the original rumors from a Gamespot forum member have indeed come true.

Specifics as to the banning are yet unknown but this is certainly another huge hit to the Australian gaming community and the country that brings you Space-Meat. Gamers of Australia have been fighting for an R18+ classification introduction for some time now to no avail.

Fallout 3 is now one of many titles refused classification and therefore banned in Australia. The recent Dark Sector case is another example, though hopefully Bethesda and Red Ant will act in a similar manner and eventually edit Fallout 3 for release on our neglected shores.

Fallout 3 is the long awaited sequel to an iconic series of post-apocalyptic RPG’s and is set to be one of the biggest and most anticipated releases of the year.

You’ll have to let me know what it’s like.

UPDATE : Seems Yug of Australian Gamer got a hold of the final report issued on Fallout 3 by the OFLC. Check it out here.
