This attempt at television was woeful. That was a planned question that THEY asked Joaby to say yet they still got all their facts wrong. If you’re not knowledgeable on a subject then don’t voice your opinion, you just sound like an idiot.

Liam, I think you should read this article. And then think about Joab Gilroy’s performance.
Don’t get me wrong, those politicans were well off the mark - but thats cause they’re not gamers and have no reason to know about these things. Anyhow I’m sure that they have the same oppinion of R18+ movies, they are boring and conservative. Thats how they keep their jobs.

Actually Eastwood the writer of that article is missinformed, that was a staged question. The ABC actively sought out someone to ask that exact question, that’s why Joab was there. All he did is ask the question they asked him to ask. Well not him specifically but someone he knew who then passed it on to Joab.
You can read it all here, on the Australian Gamer forums. Thanks for the link though Eastwood.

I would’ve liked to of asked the SA guy on the panel what his references were about the influence of videogames on people being negative are because the extensive studies (and recent ones I may add) all point towards a different conclusion entirely. I think he merely stated an opinion rather than a fact and tried to legitimize it with some vague talk of ‘psychologists’ with no references to which ones or which studies. Curious indeed.

I’d have liked to known what was going on in the studio control room. They kept cutting back to Joab as though they were expecting him to be let into the conversation, but the presenters never did.
Man, I just wanted to yell out Scarface to these guys. Cinematic masterpiece that has large amounts of drugs and violence. It’s a work of art that responsible adults have a right to enjoy - just like Fallout 3.
