Max Payne trailer

Max Payne was a video game that brought intense story, characters and emotion to action games and from the looks of the new trailer it might also be the first game based movie to not suck. With some awesome style, Mark Wahlberg putting on his most gravely voice and some awesome looking inner-demon hallucinations, I’m not going to miss Max Payne.

Fallout 3 Refused Classification In Australia

Nothing but the hard facts on this one, Fallout 3 has been officially refused classification in Australia.

Now listed on the OFLC’s Classification Database, the original rumors from a Gamespot forum member have indeed come true.

Specifics as to the banning are yet unknown but this is certainly another huge hit to the Australian gaming community and the country that brings you Space-Meat. Gamers of Australia have been fighting for an R18+ classification introduction for some time now to no avail.

Fallout 3 is now one of many titles refused classification and therefore banned in Australia. The recent Dark Sector case is another example, though hopefully Bethesda and Red Ant will act in a similar manner and eventually edit Fallout 3 for release on our neglected shores.

Fallout 3 is the long awaited sequel to an iconic series of post-apocalyptic RPG’s and is set to be one of the biggest and most anticipated releases of the year.

You’ll have to let me know what it’s like.

UPDATE : Seems Yug of Australian Gamer got a hold of the final report issued on Fallout 3 by the OFLC. Check it out here.

The podcast finally returns in its monthly format and is…pretty much the same. Actually we do have a very interesting interview with Matt and Yug from Australian Gamer in which they talk about their levels of geeky-ness, video games and their perfect Sunday. But to get to that you’ll first have to sit through Kyle, Liam and Will blathering on about the flaws and failings of Grand Theft Auto IV and Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

You can download the podcast at the Canned Geek website.

Review: DragonBall Z Burst Limit (XBOX 360)

Developer – Dimps
Publisher – Namco Bandai / Atari
Available On – XBOX 360, PS3

With Dragon Ball first airing throughout Japan in 1986 it’s not surprising to find a slew of video game releases throughout the years based on one of the most popular manga and anime series ever. DragonBall Z (DBZ) games, more specifically, have been pumping out on a regular basis since the SEGA Mega Drive days. Now we have Burst Limit, DBZ’s first foray into the next-gen realm of HD graphics and online play in what feels like a continuation on the old series as well as an introduction to a new era of DBZ games.

If you’ve played DBZ titles from series such as Budokai or Tenkaichi, you’ll of course be quite familiar with the play style of Burst Limit. A mix of strength and speed, the variety of projectile and melee attack combinations across each character hosts good versatility in combat necessitating fast reaction times against contextual thinking. Battle of the Batmans

Who is your favourite Batman? Christian Bale probably but you might also be partial to Val Kilmer and would like to see him beat the crap out of George “good actor but totally miscast” Clooney. If so then you’re in luck.
