Movie Poster Update Special – The Greats: Part 1

Are movie posters ads or are they art? Can they be both? What makes a poster great? Is it better to have more or less words? Photo or painted? I asked myself all these questions and more as I started compiling a list of my favourite movie posters of all time. Now being as I’m terrible at making up my mind and there are just too many to remember at one time I have decided not to put these in any order and just choose the ten posters at a time that I think can not only be seen as pieces of art but also grab your attention and make you want to see the film. Click more for the first ten and please feel free to comment on your favourite movies posters and what you think makes a poster great.
