Tekken’ It To Microsoft
Breaking yet another long run of Sony exclusivity, Namco today announced at the Tokyo Game Show that the newest installment in the hit fighting series Tekken will appear on the XBOX 360.

Already an arcade smash hit Tekken 6 has been expressed as a potentially difficult porting task for Namco considering it’s originally based Playstation 3 architecture.
“When we tried to move it to the 360, it would be a lie to say I wasn’t concerned. It is quite difficult. For example, on the PS3 you have the Blu-ray disc as well as the hard disk, which lends itself to a lot of options for the game. We don’t necessarily have this for the 360, where it has a DVD and it may not have a hard disk by default. So there are various things that we have to overcome when porting this to the 360, but I’m sure we can do it” – Katsuhiro Harada, Project Director
An obviously wise move by Namco if they’re seeking significant sales outside of Japan considering the widespread XBOX 360 userbase. Sony on the other hand having just lost Final Fantasy XIII seem to be running out of eggs in their basket…
