Breaking yet another long run of Sony exclusivity, Namco today announced at the Tokyo Game Show that the newest installment in the hit fighting series Tekken will appear on the XBOX 360.

Already an arcade smash hit Tekken 6 has been expressed as a potentially difficult porting task for Namco considering it’s originally based Playstation 3 architecture.
“When we tried to move it to the 360, it would be a lie to say I wasn’t concerned. It is quite difficult. For example Read more [+]
The Bazura Project, the Australian movie show that I just can’t shut up about is back for a third season.
The season starts tomorrow but I attended the official premiere screening of the first episode last week at the Palace George Cinema. It was quite the shindig and arriving early gave me time to chat with the shows hosts Lee and Shannon, when they weren’t buzzing around greeting people and shaking hands. They were obviously nervous, sweating, twitching and pounding down the free wine but confident in the show. Their only worry being a massive technical glitch that would disrupt the premiere and despite a small audio glitch (during which Shannon filled time with a joke) it all went well.
Before the show it was announced that Lee and Shannon were now the faces of the Palace Cinema chain. From now on when you go to see a movie at a Palace Cinema one of a series of “Guides To Cinephelia” will play before your movie, telling you about their special offers or just to turn your phone off. In classic Bazura style these shorts are played for laughs in manor very similar to the segments in previous episodes of the show.
The episode was a big hit, getting big laughs the whole way through and judging from this premiere episode the third season of The Bazura Project is bound to be as good if not better then the last. I highly recommend all movie lovers to check it out at the following times or on the official website a few hours later.

I find it odd how many people don’t like Michael Rapaport. Personally I always liked the guy as an actor. He has that special something that makes you either love him or hate him. In his new movie, Special, he has another special something that makes him one of the most unlikely and unsuccessful Superheroes around. Check out the teaser below and the extended trailer here (warning contains possible spoilers).

Nintendo have confirmed many circulating rumors with the announcement of a new model of their DS, the Nintendo DSi.
This third iteration of the DS was revealed at Nintendo’s own Fall Press Conference today while Nintendo preempt their lack of a Tokyo Game Show presence later this year and let loose with some Christmas announcements.

A release date of November 1st has been confirmed for Japan while the rest of the world is waiting for a 2009 release. This time around the improvements are clearly far less cosmetic so some significant hardware upheavals are expected and somewhat provided.
This new DS model will most notably feature larger screens (3.25 inches over the current 3) yet omit the Game Boy Advance port which I’m a little upset about. Removing the GBA port will allow a thinner DS and enable room for an SD Card so no loss without gain. On board flash memory will also complement SD Card capabilities as great use for new online service titled “DSWare”
While initial details are slim, “DSWare” appears to provide similar services to that of WiiWare for gamers to download full games and software onto the DSi’s internal or SD Card memory. Software downloads for the DSWare network will be purchased via the Nintendo Points method again akin to that of the Wii.

Two digital cameras will be included with a three megapixel external camera alongside a 0.3 MP internal for future support across games and the internet. Audio will get a much needed improvement with new speakers and extra audio tweaking abilities such as a pitch option and finally a web browser will be built-in by default.

Electronic Arts have regretfully informed Kotaku that the upcoming first person shooter set in the Command & Conquer universe, Tiberium, has been canceled with no further intentions for production.

Shaping up as a solid spiritual successor to C&C Renegade, Tiberium was looking quite seductive with intended plans for XBOX 360, PS3 and PC. Renegade was quite good on PC with competent single and multi player modes so I’m disappointed to see this one isn’t going to make the cut.
Apparently Tiberium was cancelled as part of EA’s new “Quality Control” methods. I’m wondering if that’s specific to Read more [+]
