Nintendo have announced a new Zelda title for the DS – The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.

Continuing with the cel shaded stylings of Phantom Hourglass but starting a whole new story, Spirit Tracks will use familiar touch controls with new monster controlling mechanics spicing up the expected dungeon searching formula of another Zelda game.

This next adventure will kick Link out of the ocean, with ship sailing being left out for Train conducting. However Link got to conducting trains – I guess I’ll have to wait to see – but for now check out the full trailer below to see how it works.

The new The Legend of Zelda™: Spirit Tracks game that Iwata announced will utilise the intuitive touch control of Phantom Hourglass in an all new adventure that will please longtime Zelda™ fans while keeping the game accessible to all DS owners. The concept behind this Zelda game includes utilising a steam locomotive to travel around the world, switching Phantom and Link to explore the dungeons, and solving puzzles using new items.
