Rockstar Games have been talking of the emergence of Max Payne 3 for some time, but now it’s official. This Christmas Max Payne 3 will be released for PC, XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3.

Starring an older and grittier Max, a “new chapter of Max’s life” begins as Max leaves New York and the NYPD only to get caught up in a new tale of violence and deceit.

“We’re starting a new chapter of Max’s life with this game,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games.” This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation.”

Previous producers Remedy are hard at work on their upcoming title Alan Wake, so Rockstar’s internal Vancouver studio will handle Max Payne 3. Trusty hands if you ask me, considering Rockstar’s committal to quality and Vancouver’s work on Bully.
