Review: Tears to Tiara (Collection 1 – Episodes 1-13)

5 years ago on the PC yet another eroge (erotic game) TRPG was released to the masses named Tears to Tiara. Cue to 2010 and after having the game released as a non-eroge version as well as a Playstation3 port with added content, naturally an anime series was next as other eroge (Fate/Stay, Tsukihime, etc.) have accomplished. Eroge can at times be known to have incredibly indepth stories, which work well as anime adaptations and it’s no surprise to see more of them ported across to anime series depending on the success of the actual game itself.

All-Time Greatest Game Villain

Gamespot’s got its All Time Greatest Game Villain battle underway.

There’s some classic names there, including some old lovables that you know won’t make it past round 1, but you’re just glad to see there nonetheless. The Pac-Man ghosts, in particular.

But if you know what’s good for you, you’ll be voting for Purple Tentacle.

Gran Turismo 5: Go-Kart Mode

Mario Kart who? Okay, that’s going a bit far, but nonetheless – here we are. Go-karts in the upcoming Gran Turismo 5.

Funnily enough, it’s not all that surprising, really. Most, if not all professional racing drivers get their on-track start in go-karts, even as young adults. So making the genre available in GT5 is, in its own way, a bit of a given.

GT5 is expected to hit shelves internationally on November 2. Hold onto your shit.

Melbourne Anime Festival August 20th to 22nd

The Melbourne Anime Festival (Manifest) is running this weekend at the Melbourne Showgrounds and has the theme ‘Mecha VS Magic’ in this incarnation (it’s 11th year running). Expect to see various panels on how to get into anime and Japanese culture as well as more specific genres of anime such as mecha anime. That said, the convention isn’t just for anime but rather Japanese culture as whole with panels and events catered to those who enjoy the lolita fashion style and others of its kind (Fruits), mecha, Ball Jointed Dolls in addition to the mainstream anime itself.

The Official Space Meat Podcast – Episode 01: Walken vs. Wild

Decades of training, years in the making, minutes to set up, seconds to f*** up. The Official Space Meat Podcast is here!

Hosted by site founder and editor Liam Marcon, listen as he chats popular culture news and topics with fellow Space Meat writers and even the occasional special guest.

In this pilot episode Liam is joined by the newest member of the Space Meat team and most regular co-host, Van! Formally of the popular podcast, Geeks of Hazzard, Van isn’t new to the podcasting scene. An accomplished critic and lover of all things motorcar related, at first glance you might not even notice the nerd clawing to get out.

The topics of interest in this first outing are wild and unwieldy but despite many derails we manage to discuss all things Avengers and other Comic-Con heroes, the possible Total Recall remake, and what we’ve been digging on the small screen.

Intro music is “Not Your Enemy” by Megaphone, via of Podsafe Audio.

First Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Footage

The next installment in the Call of Duty series Black Ops is coming from developers Treyarch again and they’ve just released a first look at what multiplayer will be like. Some interesting new weapons and tools can be seen in this trailer such as a remote controlled explosive toy car and back-stabbing knives that while fun certainly don’t look to restore any remaining semblances of balance and structure in the game. You hardcore dedicated fans can wait until the end to see a sneak at the ability to record, edit and upload video replays.

It all looks nice but still a little similar to the previous titles for this gamer who has purchase the last two Call of Duty games; I’m intrigued but not quite sold.
