Judge Dredd is without a doubt a classic comic book bad-arse. He judges criminals, never shows his face and has an insane gun.
That got me thinking, where he might rank in the all-time list of comic book bad-arsery. So, for your chance to WIN simply tell us: “Who you think the most ‘bad-arse’ comic book character is and why?”

Dredd, a futuristic cop combines the power of judge, jury and executioner in Mega City One, a massive city that stretches down the entire East coast of America. The endlessly inventive minds of writer Alex Garland and director Pete Travis bring DREDD (played by Karl Urban) to life in a futuristic neo-noir action film that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner’s and Carlos Ezquerra’s revered comic strip. In Cinemas October 25.

Fund This: Beckoning the Butcher
Local Melbournian film-makers Damien E. Lipp and Dale Alexander are working on their début feature, the documentary style horror film, ‘Beckoning the Butcher’.
The film is currently in the funding stage, up now on the crowd funding site Indie Go Go with 10 days to go and is a great opportunity for film and horror fans to support the local scene.

Chris Shaw was an up and coming internet sensation. In his videos he performed rituals he found on the web, testing their legitimacy in summoning spirits. His last video never got to be broadcast – until now.
Chris films everything as he, his girlfriend Tara and their friends Brent, Lorraine and Nicole travel to Brent’s holiday house nestled in the vast, isolated plains of rural Victoria. Once they arrive they prepare and perform the latest ritual Beckoning the Butcher, a mysterious invocation Chris found online, designed to entice a paranormal entity into this world.
All who took part in the ritual that night went missing without a trace. The only clue for investigators was the found footage contained on Chris’s camera. Unfortunately for all involved, the footage itself seemed to pose more questions than to provide answers.
Using interviews from family members, detectives and psychics, along with Chris’s footage, this film aims to piece together the events of that fateful night and determine how the players vanished.

Resident Evil 6: Even Evilier Resedition!
OK, it’s not actually called that but a Collector’s Edition of the upcoming 6th (if you don’t count the other 17) game in the Resident Evil franchise has just been announced!
The Resident Evil Collector’s Edition will include the standard retail game housed in a Zombie Steel Book. In addition to this, fans will also be treated to:
- Exclusive RE6 hardback artbook showing concept art from the game
- Avatar DLC code for 360 owners OR an exclusive Dynamic Theme for PS3 owners
- Ivy University, Tall Oaks hooded sweatshirt (one size)

Will I pick it up? The game definitely, as I was a huge fan of RE5. In fact it’s one of my favourite games on the Xbox 360, mostly due to it’s incredibly intense couch co-op.
Will I pick up the Collector’s Edition? Maybe, the art book, emblems and hoodie are cool but everything else is just filler. So ultimately like most things it will come down to price… which has yet to be announced.
A limited number of the Resident Evil 6: Collector’s Editions will be available for pre-order in Australia through EB Games and JB Hi-Fi.

Hash Tag Games: Street Fighting Movies

As a massive comic nerd, I couldn’t be more stoked for the upcoming Avengers film that will finally bring a true multi-comic and multi-hero story to the big screen.
